it looks promising but the map really shouldn’t be that big. It would be impossible to make it seem alive because there wouldnt be enough people to fill the map.

kelly they are using SpatialOS to distribute the server load across multiple PC’s to act like one server. Go to the website and do your research first. 100k is the target for PC and NPC’s together on one virtual server, which is easy for SpatialOS.

Well, don’t forget that within the world there will also be thousands of NPC characters, so it will always be full whether that be real players or NPC’s.
Also, it needs to be big enough to let everyone eventually own a piece of land within it which they can build a home and/or business on.

Although it hasn’t yet got that much populations but we hope in the near future to get everything perfect and we can have our own fun playing together.

I think that’s what will make it kind of fun. You will have big hubs no doubt from big guilds doing things, and you have to plan your adventure out instead of going to the area.

True, it might make travel there difficult. but I’d imagine later on there will be ways to teleport around the world.

Hmm, not sure about Teleporting or Fast Travel Picklerick, I think the dev team’s thoughts and the way they want the survival aspect to work is that they want you to have to travel physically around the world to get your tasks done. Thinking about having to pack your backpack with rations for a long journey ahead, or having to get a horse and cart to take your supplies into the next town to sell, all part of the survival and realism they’re looking to achieve.

Some gamers may not like this idea, but I am really looking forward to it. It’s not just gonna be your standard grinding MMO, it’s a virtual world where you can do virtually anything you want.

I know I’m relatively on the fence about the idea, in truth.

Personally. I love the idea of no fast travel, or teleportation or anything of that nature. I think if you want to pick up your roots, and move to a new location, and build something you should have to physically make it hard to do so and move. After all, if its realism we’re (and the developers) are going for, then it should be tough to get yourself moved.

But at the same time I play games, and roleplay and such to be immersed in a story. I dont want realism to inhibit my fun and my hobby since I cant devote days to just travel from point A to Point B.

I guess we’ll have to see how it goes in the game world.
